On Sunday, May 1, I had the pleasure of throwing the first pitch at the first game of the new Milton Junction Pub Crescents baseball team. The team is a reconstituted version of the Milton Junction Pub Raptors, which ended its 10-year run in 2020.
I played for a predecessor of the Crescents about 40 years ago, before the team disbanded. My former teammate Jim Carwardine, who was team manager and leading hitter of the 1980s Crescents, also threw a first pitch.
It was an honor to share the moment with him and remember our 1980 and 1981 championship seasons.
